CIPET or Central Institute of Plastics Engineering and Technology is an autonomous institute under the department of chemicals and petrochemicals,Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India. CIPET headquarters was established at Chennai in 1968 with UNDPassistance. It receives funding support from the administration ministry,OPEC, UNIDO and the World Bank. It is believed that CIPET was founded by Brigadier. A F. Eugene. who is also the founder of MES. CIPET is an ISO 9001:2008 QMS, NABL, ISO/IEC 17020 accredited premier national Institution devoted to Academic, Technology Support & Research (ATR) activities for the growth of Polymer & allied industries in the country. CIPET operates on hub & spokes model with 23 locations spread across the length & breadth of the country. CIPET has 16 centres at Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Aurangabad, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Hajipur, Haldia, Imphal, Jaipur, Kochi, Lucknow, Mysore and Panipat. All the CIPET centres have state of art infrastructural facilities in the areas of Design, CAD/CAM/CAE, Tooling & Mould Manufacturing, Plastics processing, Testing and Quality control to cater to the needs of Polymer & allied industries in the country.

Pay Band for Technical Positions in CIPET

• Sr. Technical Officer (Processing / Tool Room) : Rs. 15600-39100 GP : Rs. 6600/-
• Technical Officer (Processing / Tool Room) : Rs. 15600-39100 GP : Rs. 5400/-
• Assistant Technical Officer (Processing / Tool Room) : Rs. 9300-34800 GP : Rs. 4600/-
• Graduate Engineer Trainee : Rs.18000/- p.m. + HRA

Age criteria for CIPET Vacancy 2016

• Sr. Technical Officer (Processing / Tool Room) : 35 years
• Technical Officer (Processing / Tool Room) : 30 years
• Assistant Technical Officer (Processing / Tool Room) : 28 years
• Graduate Engineer Trainee : 28 years

• Sr. Technical Officer (Processing / Tool Room) : M.E./M.Tech. in the Polymer Science / Technology / Mechanical Engineering / Chemical Engineering / Equivalent field from recognized Institute with 5 years relevant Post-Qualification experience (or) Ph.D in Polymer Science / Technology / Mechanical Engineering / Chemical Engineering / Equivalent field from recognized Institute with 3 years relevant Post-Qualification experience.
• Technical Officer (Processing / Tool Room) : M.E./M.Tech. in the Polymer Science / Technology / Mechanical Engineering / Chemical Engineering / Equivalent field from recognized Institute with 2 years relevant Post-Qualification experience (or) Ph.D in Polymer Science / Technology / Mechanical Engineering / Chemical Engineering / Equivalent field from recognized Institute.
• Assistant Technical Officer (Processing / Tool Room) : B.E./B.Tech./M.Sc. in the Polymer Science / Technology / Mechanical Engineering / Chemical Engineering / Equivalent field from recognized Institute with 3 years relevant Post-Qualification experience
• Graduate Engineer Trainee : M.E./M.Tech. in the Polymer Science / Technology / Mechanical Engineering / Chemical Engineering / Equivalent field from recognized Institute.
