The Arvind Kejriwal led, Delhi government is all set to come up with 9,623 additional teaching posts in government schools. Besides, the government has also decided to provide age relaxation and weightage marks to contract/guest teachers of government schools in order to improve the quality of education in the state.

"The 9,623 additional teaching posts created by the government will be filled through an online test that will be conducted by a public sector company-- Education Consultant India Ltd (EdCIL)," a senior government official said, states PTI reports.

"It has been decided to recommend age relaxation and an additional weightage for experience to eligible, contract based/guest teachers working at schools run by Delhi Government's Directorate of Education (DoE)," he added.

Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal had suggested that the candidates who worked as guest teachers and contract teachers of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyaan (SSA) in the previous years may be given age relaxation and weightage marks as a onetime measure by linking to the years of service rendered by them with appropriate conditions.
