Citizens of India (OCIs)} and foreign nationals¹ for the posts of Assistant Professors, Associate Professors and
Professors in the Departments of Aerospace Engineering, Biological Sciences & Bioengineering, Chemical
Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Earth Sciences, Electrical Engineering,
Humanities and Social Sciences, Industrial and Management Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering,
Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics and Statistics, Chemistry and Physics.

- Professor in the pay scale of Rs.37400-67000 AGP Rs.10500/-
- Associate Professor in the pay scale of Rs.37400-67000 AGP Rs.9500/-

- Assistant Professor (on contract basis) in the pay scale of Rs.15600-39100 AGP Rs.7000/-

IIT Kanpur Recruitment Eligibility Criteria
Academic Qualification: Ph.D.
with first class or equivalent (in terms of grades, etc.) at the
preceding degree
in the appropriate branch, with a very good academic record throughout
(also see in IIT Kanpur Recruitment 2016 Notification below). In
addition,
for:
Professor: 10 years teaching/research/industrial experience of which at least 4 years should be at the level of
Associate Professor.
Associate Professor: 6 years teaching/research/industrial experience of which at least three years should be
at the level of Assistant Professor or equivalent
Assistant Professor: For a fresh Ph.D, the position will be on contract basis for the first three years and will
be regularized afterwards. For those with three or more years of teaching/research/industrial experience
regular appointment may be made.
Selection Process : Selection process will be based on interview.
