Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is inviting application from the eligible candidates for Indian Economic Service / Indian Statistical Service Examination, 2016.
On basis of this Examination, total 28 posts will be filled. Interested
and eligible candidates may apply Online only through the official
website of the ICAR (See URL below). Examination Notification

given below. A combined competitive examination for recruitment to Junior Time
Scale of the Indian Economic Service/Indian Statistical Service will be
held by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), commencing May 13,
in accordance with the rules published by the Ministry of Statistics
& Programme Implementation.The examination will be held at the

Eligibility criteria for IES/ ISS 2016
Age Limit (For all above posts/discipline): Minimum 21 years as have not attained 30 years as on 01 August 2016. Upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years for SC/ST, 03 years for OBC and 10 years for PWD category. Ex-Serviceman & Others, if any – As per Govt. norms.Educational qualification:
- Indian Economic Service: Interested candidates must have obtained a Post-Graduate degree in Economics/Applied Economics/Business Economics/Econometrics from a university incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutes established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as University.
- Indian Statistical Service: Interested candidates must have obtained a Bachelor's degree with Statistics/Mathematical Statistics/Applied Statistics as one of the subject or a Master's degree in Statistics/Mathematical Statistics/Applied Statistics from a university incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other Educational Institutes established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as University.
Examination Fee: Candidates must pay Rs.200/- as Examination Fee. Fee can be paid through online mode during submission of online application form by using Debit/Credit card or Net banking OR can be paid through Bank by means of fee payment Challan. NO EXAMINATION FEE REQUIRED IN CASE OF FEMALE/SC/ST/PH CANDIDATES.
Candidates’ Selection: Selection of the candidates will be through Written Examination and Interview Test.
Candidates must be physically fit according to physical standard for admission to Indian Economic Service/Indian Statistical Service Examination, 2016

Upon successful payment of prescribed fee and submission of online application form, the system generated Registration/Acknowledgement Slip with unique registration number will appear on the computer screen. Candidates must print-out it for future correspondence. DO NOT SEND ANY PRINT-OUT/HARD COPY OR DOCUMENTS TO ICAR AT THIS STAGE. All the verification will be done in due course.
